Dr. Melanie Abrams

Dr. Melanie Abrams graduated from the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry in 2006. Dr. Melanie enjoyed the field so much; she continued her studies in a residency program with focus on oral surgery, special needs patients, and treatment planning and hospital dentistry. This experience confirmed her love of working with children. She has been in private practice focusing on children's dental health ever since! With such a focus on education, Dr. Abrams remains very active in the dental community including such groups as the American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association, Louisville Dental Society, and Kentucky Association of Women Dentists.

Dr. Melanie met her wonderful husband, Greg, in 1998 through a mutual friend, marrying in 2002. The Abrams live in Louisville with their two children, Alyssa and Derek. In her free time, you will find her playing volleyball, reading a good book or spending time with her wonderful family and friends. Dr. Abrams focuses on children because of her belief that every child deserves a beautiful smile. Dental health increases confidence and of course plays a large role in your child's over all health with an emphasis on parent and patient education.

Dr. Melanie believes each child should be treated the way she would want her children to be treated. She shares the goal of Kid's Dentistry to ensure the atmosphere make the child feel safe, so they will enjoy coming to the dentist and having fun while learning to take care of their teeth.



Dr. Kim Hansford

Dr. Kim Hansford graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. She then completed her residency training in pediatric dentistry at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati. She returned to Louisville and for several years, worked both in private practice and at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. For four years Dr. Hansford had a full time appointment at UofL where she worked to help establish a pediatric dental residency program. After starting a family with her pediatrician husband, she re-entered private practice at Kid's Dentistry. Dr. Hansford is Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry, a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Hansford is dedicated to providing comprehensive oral care to children. Oral health care is an important part of your overall health. Dr. David Lubbe

Dr. David Lubbe attended Xavier University for three years and later graduated from the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry. He spent two years at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina as a Navy dentist. He went on to complete his residency in pediatric dentistry at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA. Upon leaving the navy, he started his private pediatric practice in Fort Thomas, Kentucky for 15 years. He later moved to Madison, Indiana and started another pediatric practice, which after 25 years, he sold and went into semi-retirement. He joined the Kid's Dentistry team in October 2009.

This busy and active father of 8 children, and at present, 8 grandchildren, has been a lifetime member of the American Dental Association and 15 years as an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Lubbe, along with his staff, is dedicated to helping children feel good about visiting the dentist and teaching them how to care for their teeth. Our focus is on prevention, early detection, and treatment of dental diseases. We strive to stay current on the latest advances in dentistry for children. While providing a warm and caring atmosphere along with our special techniques and communication style, our goal is to promote the establishment of trust and confidence in your child that will last a lifetime!



Dr. Danielle Haman-Smith

Dr. Danielle M. Haman-Smith graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor in Science and then graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry with Doctorate in Dental Medicine. She fellowed for a year at the Underwood and Lee Dental Clinic where she emphasized training with special needs individuals. She then completed her residency training and masters in pediatric dentistry at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. After she and her dentist husband started their family with the birth of Evelyn, she returned to join Kid's Dentistry in New Albany. Dr. Danielle is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association and the Indiana Society of Pediatric Dentists. Dr. Danielle is certified in CPR and Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support. She is licensed in Kentucky and Colorado as well.

Dr. Danielle's most rewarding job is being a wife and mommy. It is her number one priority to treat each and every person who enters the office in the manner in which she would like to be treated herself. As a mother, Dr. Danielle wants the best care for her daughter and she knows that the parents of her patients feel the same way. Dr. Danielle enjoys running, swimming, boating, good books, and evenings out with her hubby and daughter.

Dr. Kelly Underwood

Dr. Kelly Underwood graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and then received her doctorate of dental medicine at the University Of Louisville School Of Dentistry. She completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University Hospital and the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. She focused on medically complex and special needs patients, along with children in a conventional office and hospital setting. After residency Dr. Kelly worked with children in a private practice. Dr. Kelly is an active member of the Louisville Dental Society Kentucky Dental Association, American Dental Association and the Kentucky Association of Women's Dentists. She is licensed in Kentucky and Indiana.

Dr. Kelly lives in Louisville with her husband Jason and two dogs. She enjoys playing tennis and spending time with family and friends. Her family centric approach to dental care involves the child, parents, and siblings. She believes that diet, hygiene, and dental treatment must all be addressed to provide truly comprehensive care. Dr. Kelly's calm and friendly demeanor will help place your child at ease to comfortably reach all your oral health goals.



Dr. Jason A. Lipoff

Dr. Jason Lipoff is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, where he received his doctorate in dental medicine in 2003. After attending a General Practice Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center, Dr. Lipoff was commissioned as a Captain in the United States Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky in 2004. After honorable discharge in 2007, he returned to his hometown of Chicago, Illinois and joined a cosmetic-based dental practice, focusing on restoring the smiles of adults and children. In 2009, Dr. Lipoff decided to specialize in the field of pediatric dentistry; he served as Chief Resident at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hosipital/NSU-CDM in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and received his certificate in June 2011.

His practice philosophy is prevention. He wants to make sure parents and children are aware of the causes of dental disease and understand what can be done to pre-vent future problems. Effective communication is essential in developing a healthy oral environment.

Over the past 8 years, Dr. Lipoff has completed over 300 CE hours on topics including restorative dentistry/materials, pediatric dentistry, pediatric medicine, patient management techniques, sedation, laser dentistry, and oral surgery. He has also lectured dental students and colleagues on behavior management techniques, conscious sedation, dental trauma management, and glass ionomer indications in the pediatric patient.

Dr. Lipoff's personal interests include exercise, cooking, and baseball. Along with his daily exercise regimen, he is a certified indoor cycling instructor and an outfielder for the South Florida Sun Devils Semi-Professional Baseball Club. Along with providing dental care for all types of children, he stresses, "A healthy lifestyle leads to a healthy smile."

Professional memberships include the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Academy of Laser Dentistry. Professional certifications include Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Botox/Dermal Fillers.



Dr. Monica Bingham DMD, MS

Dr. Monica Bingham was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. Dr. Bingham is bi-lingual with Spanish being her native language. She attended and graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, School of Dentistry in Bogota. She continued her education at Saint Martin College, also in Bogota, where she specialized in Orthodontics and earned an MS degree.

In 2003 Dr. Bingham relocated to the U.S. In 2005 she enrolled at University of Kentucky School of Dentistry where she graduated with a DMD degree in 2009. In 2007, Dr. Bingham became an American Citizen, something she is very proud of. She continued her dental training in pediatrics and completed her studies in June of 2011. Monica loves to work with children and has devoted her professional career to their dental health and well-being.

In her spare time, Dr. Bingham loves spending time outdoors, hiking, doing yoga, and riding horses. She loves taking vacations to the beach where it's warm. Dr. Bingham is bi-lingual with Spanish being her native language.
